Haldimand County recognizes the importance of community festivals, events and tournaments to enhance quality of life, tourism and economic development.

Planning a special event in Haldimand County?

Each year, the County receives numerous requests from community groups and organizations wishing to host special events on Haldimand County property. These events vary in scope, purpose, size, cost and complexity, all of which require the coordinated efforts of staff to ensure safe event operation and adherence to applicable by-laws, policies and procedures. Based on the nature of the request, Council approval may be required.

Are you planning to sell or offer food at your event?

All persons and/or organizations planning to sell or offer food and/or beverages to the public at a special event in Haldimand County or Norfolk County must obtain approval from the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit (HNHU) prior to the start of the event. There is no fee associated with the approval process.

If there will be alcohol available at your event look over the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario’s (AGCO) website on Special Occasion Permits (SOP)

Advertising your event on our Arena Digital Signs

Digital Sign Advertising – Community Groups may be eligible to have their events listed on digital signs located at Caledonia, Cayuga and Dunnville arenas. Apply by filling in the request form.

Clean and Green – Volunteer Community Clean-up Events

Do you have a particular area of community you would like to pitch-in and help clean -up? To get started, complete the Clean and Green program application form and tell us a bit more of your community clean-up idea.
