Police Services

Police Services consists of several components that work together to provide Haldimand County residents with a safe and comfortable community. The following groups work together to ensure the safety of Haldimand County and its residents:

  • Ontario Provincial Police
Policing in Haldimand County has been contracted out to the Ontario Provincial Police. The OPP carries out the formal policing in Haldimand County as per a five-year contract with the Province.
  • Haldimand O.P.P. Detachment Board
Along with the legislated duties, the Haldimand O.P.P. Detachment Board is considered a bridge between the community and the police. The board takes an active role in hearing community concerns and addressing them with the Detachment Commander.
  • Community Policing Committees
Volunteers in the community help promote public safety and crime prevention by focusing on the specific needs of an area and by providing programming to address those needs.
