Camps and Programming

Registration for March Break camp opens February 1st and Summer camp opens on May 1st. All programs are available for registration through our online booking system Activenet.

Recreation Programs

Haldimand County offers FREE arena programming at the Caledonia, Cayuga, Dunnville and Hagersville arena seasonally. Program information and schedules can be found here.

Join us to improve your cardiovascular health, balance, weight and muscle strength!

This FREE program for Seniors is hosted by the Haldimand Abilities Centre. Sit to be fit, is designed to promote health and fitness for seniors while increasing strength, balance, flexibility and endurance. To register for this program please call the Abilities Center at (905) 768-4488.

Locations offered:  Tuesday and Thursday at the Caledonia Arena

Through Minds in Motion, people living with early to mid-stage dementia will experience meaningful and beneficial socialization and stimulation through a number of activities. To register for this program please contact the Hagersville Abilities Center at (905) 768-4488

Locations offered:  Wednesdays at the Cayuga Arena

March Break Camp

The 5-day long camp will run from March 11 – 15, 2024 and will feature games, crafts and sports centered around the theme “Cosmic Crusaders”. Campers will engage in a variety of activities that foster creativity, encourage movement, build friendships and create unforgettable memories. Our camp is staffed by HIGH 5 – certified camp counsellors who are dedicated to ensuring each day is filled with fun and exciting experiences.

All campers must adhere to the Camper Code of Conduct.  Haldimand County does not provide one-on-one inclusion support staff for March Break programming, external support staff are welcomed with pre-approval.

  • Ages: 4-10Y
  • Time: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm;
  • AM care opens at 7:30 am, PM care open until 5:30 pm

Summer Camp

Our traditional day camp offering where we explore our creativity, engage in movement, build lasting friendships and make unforgettable memories. Our High 5 Certified, Camp Counsellors will ensure that each day is filled with a variety of fun and exciting activities which are tailored to the weekly theme. Campers will be in groups of children with similar ages where they will enjoy active games, songs, swimming, crafts, outdoor activities, special events and more.

Age range: 4-10Y | Locations offered: Caledonia Arena, Caledonia Presbyterian Church, Cayuga Arena, Dunnville, Hagersville Arena, Jarvis Anglican Hall

With sessions on communication, teamwork, identity, professionalism and goal setting, the program will challenge participants to develop personal leadership qualities. This program focuses on strong leadership skills, self confidence and active listening which are the first steps to becoming a great Leader. Through this two week program, participants will have the opportunity to earn Babysitting and Emergency First Aid with CPR B certifications while gaining hands on experience in our Camps setting.

Age range: 13-15Y | Locations offered: Hagersville, Dunnville, Caledonia

Let’s get creative! Arts Camp is a perfect opportunity for campers that have a passion for creative expression. Art is about so much more than painting and drawing. This camp will give kids a chance to explore the world of conceptual and physical art through various mediums! Campers will also enjoy other summer activities such as swimming, games and special events.

Age range: 8-12Y | Locations offered: Caledonia, Cayuga, Dunnville, Hagersville 

Sports Adventure Camp is for those who enjoy high activity, sport and skill development. This camp provides the opportunity to learn and experience a variety of sports offered near and far. Participants skills will be developed and enhanced through drills, practice and games, both indoors and outdoors, while also developing other important attributes of sport such as team building, cooperation, sportsmanship and responsibility. Campers will also enjoy other summer activities such as swimming, games, crafts and special events.

Age range: 8-12Y | Locations offered: Caledonia, Cayuga, Dunnville, Hagersville. 

Camp Inclusion Opportunities

All Summer Camp programs offered by Haldimand County provide an inclusive environment. Inclusion Counsellors are available for participants who require additional assistance, however spaces are limited. Please note that some limitations do exist. Parents / guardians will be required to complete an inclusion form at the time of registration, confidentiality will be maintained.

Program Cancellations and Refunds

There will be no make-up classes due to absenteeism, weather, emergency or maintenance closings. Refunds will be granted when; Haldimand County cancels a program; and a participant is medically unable to participate a program , medical documentation is required. Extenuating circumstances will be evaluated on a case by case basis by County Staff a credit may be applied to your Haldimand County account which can be used for future registrations or facility rentals if prior notice has been given.

Haldimand County is a registered member of HIGH FIVE®. Our aquatic and camp staff receive training to promote involvement in quality programming and activities for children. Staff are trained in the principles of healthy child development in recreation and sports settings. Haldimand County programs include HIGH FIVE®’s essentials for high-quality programming:
