Summer Camps and Programming

Haldimand County provides fun, inclusive summer camp programming for children aged 4 and up. Our affordable programs feature highly-trained and creative staff, low child-to-staff ratios, inclusion opportunities for children with special needs and extended care opportunities for mornings and afternoons.

2022 Camp Lineup

Our traditional day camp offering where we explore our creativity, engage in movement, build lasting friendships and make unforgettable memories. Our High 5 Certified, Camp Counsellors will ensure that each day is filled with a variety of fun and exciting activities which are tailored to the weekly theme. Campers will be in groups of children with similar ages where they will enjoy active games, songs, swimming, crafts, outdoor activities, special events and more.

Age range: 4-10Y | Locations offered: Jarvis, Hagersville, Cayuga, Dunnville, Caledonia

With sessions on communication, teamwork, identity, professionalism and goal setting, the program will challenge participants to develop personal leadership qualities. This program focuses on strong leadership skills, self confidence and active listening which are the first steps to becoming a great Leader. Through this two week program, participants will have the opportunity to earn Babysitting and Emergency First Aid with CPR B certifications while gaining hands on experience in our Camps setting.

Age range: 12-15Y | Locations offered: Dunnville, Caledonia

Let’s get creative! Arts Camp is a perfect opportunity for campers that have a passion for creative expression. Art is about so much more than painting and drawing. This camp will give kids a chance to explore the world of conceptual and physical art through various mediums! Campers will also enjoy other summer activities such as swimming, games and special events.

Age range: 7-12Y | Locations offered: Hagersville, Cayuga, Dunnville, Caledonia

Sports Adventure Camp is for those who enjoy high activity, sport and skill development. This camp provides the opportunity to learn and experience a variety of sports offered near and far. Participants skills will be developed and enhanced through drills, practice and games, both indoors and outdoors, while also developing other important attributes of sport such as team building, cooperation, sportsmanship and responsibility. Campers will also enjoy other summer activities such as swimming, games, crafts and special events.

This is a brand new Camp to Haldimand County. Wellness Camp is all about the exploration of the self and a look into holistic wellbeing. With a focus on nature, personal growth and self expression this camp will include Yoga and movement, mindful meditation, trail walks, journaling and art. Campers will also enjoy other summer activities such as swimming, games and special events.

Camp Inclusion Opportunities

All Summer Camp programs offered by Haldimand County provide an inclusive environment. Inclusion Counsellors are available for participants who require additional assistance, however spaces are limited. Please note that some limitations do exist. Parents / guardians will be required to complete an inclusion form at the time of registration, confidentiality will be maintained.

Pickleball Programs – Coming June 2022

These two(2) hour one day workshops are for new players who are just starting out and want a basic introduction to playing pickle ball.

Learn the ABCs of the game. Serves, returns and other basic strokes/rules will be covered to introduce you to the fastest growing sport in North America!

Paddles and balls provided. Please wear comfortable athletic clothing and tennis or running shoes and ensure you have plenty of water.

Adult | Locations offered: Caledonia, Dunnville, Jarvis 

This three (3) week hour and a half clinic is for new players who are just starting out and want a basic introduction to playing pickle ball.

Learn the ABCs of the game. Serves, returns and other basic strokes/rules will be covered to introduce you to the fastest growing sport in North America!

Paddles and balls provided. Please wear comfortable athletic clothing and tennis or running shoes and ensure you have plenty of water.

Adults | Locations offered: Dunnville

Intermediate (experienced player)

In this three (3) week clinic of an hour and a half lessons we will focus on building and improving your technical shot inventory and decision-making abilities, such as third shot decisions, managing hard hitting opponents, the ABCs of dinking, and refusing to “pop-up’ the ball.

Please wear comfortable athletic clothing and tennis or running shoes and ensure you have plenty of water. The program will be rescheduled in the case of inclement weather.

Adults | Locations offered: Dunnville

No experience required for this is a five(5) week clinic, of one hour lessons.

With a fast-learning curve, smaller court, and shorter paddles, pickleball is the ideal sport to introduce kids to racket sports. The focus will be on a fun engaging and active experience.

Paddles and balls provided. Please wear comfortable athletic clothing and tennis or running shoes and ensure you have plenty of water.

Age range: 9 – 11 | Locations offered: Dunnville

No experience required for this is a five(5) week clinic, of one hour lessons.

Our aquatic and camp staff receive training to promote involvement in quality programming and activities for children aged 6 to 12 years. Staff are trained in the principles of healthy child development in recreation and sports settings. Haldimand County programs include HIGH FIVE®’s essentials for high-quality programming:

A Caring Adult: a leader or coach who shows warmth and genuine interest in children

Program Cancellations and Refunds

There will be no make-up classes due to absenteeism, weather, emergency or maintenance closings. Refunds will be granted when; Haldimand County cancels a program; and a participant is medically unable to participate a program , medical documentation is required. Extenuating circumstances will be evaluated on a case by case basis by County Staff a credit may be applied to your Haldimand County account which can be used for future registrations or facility rentals if prior notice has been given.
