The Two Row Wampum flag is flying on our community flagpole to commemorate National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21. This day is observed across Canada as a time to celebrate the heritage, achievements, and enduring presence of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. It also serves as a reminder of our shared responsibility to advance understanding, equity, and reconciliation.
Haldimand County is shaped by the stories, traditions, and contributions of Indigenous peoples. Raising the Two Row Wampum flag symbolizes our commitment to honouring these relationships and ensuring our community remains a place of respect, learning, and belonging for all.
