Programs

For the first few months after its opening, the Centre will offer a number of low-cost drop-in pilot programs suited to a wide variety of interests, and learn-to programs as available. Help us shape our programming by sharing the types of activities you'd like to see. Take our quick survey below.

Stay active in our drop-in programs (with a small fee) and paid registered programs in the Empire Homes Active Living Centre.

With the extended suite of programs, activities and experiences in the Active Living Centre, Haldimand is happy to offer the following new benefits: 

  • A 40% discount on drop-in fees at the ALC ($3 instead of $5)
  • $8.00 discount on self-directed per day research fees at museums (from $11.75 to $4)

How to register for programs

Our registered programs and drop-in schedules are listed on ActiveNet.

On ActiveNet you will be able to:

  • Search for activities by age, location, date, and more
  • Add yourself or a family member to a waitlist if a program is full
  • Register and pay with a credit card or Visa/Mastercard debit

You will need an account to register and pay for programs. If you don’t have an account yet, you can create an account online.

Once your account has been established, registering for activities is easy:

1. Click the View Activities button on the registration home page.

2. Select the Activity that you would like to enroll into. Clicking the underlined name will show you a detailed Activity description.

3. Click the Add to My Cart button if you wish to register for the Activity.

4. Next, sign in to your online registration account by entering your Login Name information and Password. Proceed to checkout by clicking the Continue button. From this screen you may remove Activities from your cart or view more Activities and add them to your cart. *Please Note: If more than one family member will be attending the Activity, click on the button labeled, Add Another One (located under the Shopping Cart screen).

5. Confirm your Activity name, date and time, enrollee and price.

6. Click Continue to proceed with payment. You will be prompted that you are entering a secure site. Enter your credit card information on the Payment Information Page and agree to any required waiver(s) and confirm the payer meets the age requirement of "13 Years or Older". Click Continue. This system accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.

Please Note: The name and address must match those that are on file with your credit company. If the address shown is not your credit card billing address, click on the My Account button and change your residential address to match your credit card billing address. 

7. Once your payment has been approved, your receipt will display. Please print a copy of your receipt for your records.

Where is the facility located? 

The Hagersville Library + Active Living Centre is located at 11 Athens Street in Grant Kett Park, next to the Hagersville Arena. 

What are the Active Living Centre’s hours of operation? 

  • Monday to Friday: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. 
  • Hours may change on holidays or during special events. Please check the Hagersville Library Branch for its hours of operation.

Are discounts available?

Yes. Annual memberships are available at discounted rates for youth ($50), seniors ($60), and families ($120). Otherwise, adults are welcome to purchase an individual annual membership for $70. 

What are the benefits of a membership?

Memberships provide: 

  • Up to 40% off drop-in program fees
  • Early access to select program registration
  • Additional savings when combined with a 10-pass

Are multi-class passes available?

Yes. A 10-pass can be purchased for drop-in programs at a reduced rate. Passes must be used and validated at the front desk and cannot be used for online program booking at this time. 

Is financial assistance available?

Financial assistance may be available through municipal or partner programs for eligible participants.

What types of programs are offered?

Programs include recreation, wellness, community, and other specialized services for a variety of ages and skill levels. To view all available programs, please view our Schedule

Are programs drop-in or registered?

Both options are available, depending on the program. All programs require an ActiveNet account, which can be created with assistance from a staff member at the HALC Front Desk. 

How do I register?

You can register online using ActiveNet at: link.haldimandcounty.ca 
You may also register in person at the facility. 

Can I register at the last minute? 

Yes. Registration for drop-in programs is permitted where space is available. 

What if I miss a class?

Missed classes are non-refundable unless the program is cancelled by Haldimand. Make-up classes are not guaranteed.  

Do I need to bring my own equipment?

Some equipment is provided. Participants are welcome to bring personal items, such as a yoga mat or their own pickleball paddle, for personal comfort and hygiene. For more information on what items are welcome, please speak with staff.  

Are lockers and changerooms available?

Day-use lockers are available. Limited change space is provided. Public showers are not available in the facility. 

Is parking available?

Yes. Free on-site and accessible parking is available in front of the HALC. 

Can I rent space at the facility?

Yes. Spaces are available for community bookings, private events, and classes, based on availability and program scheduling. To inquire, please email: rentals@haldimandcounty.ca.

What is the cancellation and refund policy?

Cancellations and refunds follow the Recreation Programming Policy. Eligible cancellations receive an 80% credit to the participant’s ActiveNet account. 

Are waivers required? 

Yes. Participants must complete a waiver before taking part in applicable programs. 

How can I receive updates? 

Program updates and notices are shared through the website and on ActiveNet. Urgent updates to programs will be communicated to all registered participants as early as possible.
