Notice of Public Consultation: Official Plan Update Phase 1 – Growth Strategy (Nov 18 to Dec 18)

Public Consultation is being held as part of the County’s Official Plan Review Project. Due to COVID-19 gathering restrictions, the consultation process is being hosted on-line.

Phase 1 objectives for the Official Plan Update are to:

  • Prepare growth strategies for each of the County’s six urban areas: Caledonia, Cayuga, Dunnville, Hagersville, Jarvis, and
  • Report on extending the water service corridor from the Nanticoke Water Treatment Plant to serve Caledonia and Cayuga.

Members of the public are encouraged to review the information available and provide feedback. Information available includes:

  • Public Consultation Information Boards;
  • Updated growth forecasts;
  • Community and employment land needs information; and
  • Proposed boundary changes for the County’s six urban areas.

Review the information at www.haldimandcounty.ca/planning-services/opupdate/and provide your comments by December 18.

Notice of Public Consultation: Official Plan Update Facilitated Workshop #1 (Nov 30)

Facilitated Workshop # 1: November 30, 2020

6:15 to 9:00 pm (6:15-6:30 pm virtual connection)

Virtual Meeting (Zoom session)

A roundtable forum is being held as part of the Official Plan Review. The session will  be a facilitated workshop that will focus on:

  • Key trends impacting Haldimand County;
  • Your aspirations for the County; and
  • Two themes: Economy and Growth Management.

This is a virtual open house workshop that has been rescheduled from March 25, 2020, to seek public input regarding the key themes identified above. Facilitated Workshop #2, which will be held at a later date, will focus on the other policy themes, including Environment; Community Building; Leisure, Culture and Heritage; and Health and Social Services.

The Haldimand County Official Plan contains goals, objectives and policies that manage and direct physical change and its effects on the social, economic and natural environment of the County. It guides the installation of public infrastructure and the County’s Zoning By-law that development approvals must conform to.
