• Nomination Process:

  • For a Nominee to be considered, the Nomination Form must be completed in full and submitted with supporting documents outlining the Nominee’s achievements. Please ensure you include all volunteer activities of the Nominee;
  • Eligibility and Criteria: Any Individual, Not-for-Profit or Organization may submit more than one nomination. An Individual, Not-for-Profit or Organization may nominate themselves;
  • Political and public advocacy work are not eligible and will not be considered; and,
  • It is the responsibility of the Nominator to inform the proposed Nominee of the submission. By submitting an entry you automatically grant Haldimand County the right to use any materials in the entry for editorial, analytical, promotional or any other purpose without additional permission or compensation.

  Community Festival or Event Award Criteria:

  • Eligibility and Criteria: A Festival or Event is an organized gathering with a planned program oriented towards arts, culture, sport and entertainment, charitable endeavours or educational activities that occurs within a defined period of time;
  • The primary volunteer activity/event must have taken place in the past 18 months. A Recognition Night recipient from the previous year is not eligible to be nominated in the same category;
  • Political and public advocacy work are not eligible and will not be considered;
  • Festival or Event is open to the general public with no admission charge or a minimal charge where deemed necessary to ensure maximum public participation and access;
  • Festival or Event is active in nature and encourages community/resident/visitor participation;
  • Festival or Event promotes measurable tourism and economic benefit for Haldimand County and its residents; and,
  • The Festival or Event is hosted by an Individual, Not-for-Profit or Organization and the Nominee has demonstrated leadership, innovation and involvement with significant time and commitment to the project.
• Festivals and Events vary in size and complexity. For recognition purposes this Award will be divided into the following categories:*
  • Major One (1) Day: Attendance is over 500 people and an operating budget over $10,000;
  • Major Multi-Day: Attendance is over 500 people and an operating budget over $10,000; or,
  • Minor: Attendance level less than 500 people.

• Nomination Must Include:

• The applicable Nomination Form with all sections and questions completed in full;
• Extra pages if more space is required; and,
• Other supporting materials (e.g. publications, photos, media stories, video, etc.).

PLEASE NOTE NOMINATIONS WILL BE JUDGED AS PRESENTED.
