Haldimand County enters into contracts with private companies that perform work on the County’s behalf. These can include services like major construction projects, road work, snow plowing and garbage removal. Through these contracts, the contractor has an obligation to respond to claims.
Haldimand County’s role is to ensure that the contractual obligations have been met. This means that the contractor must acknowledge and investigate the reported incident. Contractual obligations are not based on compensation or the outcome of the incident.
If the name of the contractor is known, it is recommended to deal directly with them however if you wish to submit a claim using our form, please select Contractor Claim. Please note that the form will be forwarded to the Contractor who is authorized to respond and that there will be no acknowledgement from the County. However, you will receive communication from Haldimand County that will provide the contact information of the responsible Contractor.
