Village Green Revitalization
We want your feedback!
A short survey will be open from November 6 to November 24 to collect community input and help shape the final accessibility components of the Village Green Revitalization project in Cayuga
Village Green Park in Cayuga is moving forward with plans to create an inviting, inclusive and accessible outdoor space for residents of all ages and abilities. Following earlier public consultation, community feedback has helped inform the development of the park’s concept design.

Overview
Village Green has long been a part of Cayuga's community landscape, serving as a gathering place and a connection to the village's history. Its revitalization represents an opportunity to build on that legacy while creating a welcoming, vibrant and inclusive space for future generations.
The vision for Village Green is rooted in community input and collaboration. Beginning in 2019, Haldimand County undertook an extensive community engagement process to explore the future of several parks in Cayuga, including Village Green. Through public consultation sessions, community discussions and online surveys, residents shared their ideas, priorities and vision for these important public spaces. This feedback played an important role in shaping the park's concept design and helping establish the features and amenities that reflect the needs and interests of the community.
As the project moves forward, we are building on that foundation by seeking additional community input on accessibility-related elements of the proposed design. This includes accessible parking spaces, rest areas and seating, eating areas, and features within the proposed play space.
We want to hear from residents, families, people with disabilities, caregivers and park users about what would help make Village Green a place where people of all ages and abilities can participate, connect and enjoy the space.
Public engagement
Community input will play an important role in the final design of the park.
Residents, park users, families, and community organizations will have opportunities to provide feedback on the design concepts through various engagement activities such as:
- Online surveys: Village Green Cayuga Design Concept Survey (Open November 6 to November 24)
- The Accessibility Advisory Committee consultation on November 10 at 3pm.
- For more details and to view the agenda, please see our Council Calendar
- Public information sessions/Open Houses: There will be a public open house on November 24.
- Stakeholder and community group outreach: Engagement with local community groups occurred in 2019
Feedback received will help inform the accessibility features incorporated into Village Green Park in Cayuga.
Engagement opportunities and project updates will be posted on this page as they become available.
