In 2025, Haldimand County Council approved a new ward boundary structure following an in-depth review led by Watson & Associates Economists Ltd., extensive public consultation, and council deliberation. Council endorsed a 7-ward model that adds a ward in Caledonia while maintaining representation across the rest of the county, increasing the size of council to eight members, including the mayor. This updated structure will take effect for the 2026 municipal election.
The review, which was Haldimand’s first comprehensive boundary assessment in 24 years, prioritized effective representation and community interests, supported by months of public engagement opportunities.

- The number of wards has been increased to add one more councillor
- Ward 7 was added in the Caledonia area
- Significant changes to Ward 3 and Ward 4 were made to accommodate the new Ward 7
- Minor adjustments were also made to other ward boundaries
