Being a by-law to designate community safety zones within Haldimand County

1.  THAT this by-law may be cited as the “Community Safety Zone By-law”.

2.  THAT the following terms are defined for the purpose of this by-law:

2.1  Appropriate Authorized Sign shall mean a sign that has been authorized by the Council of The Corporation of Haldimand County;

2.2  Community Safety Zone shall mean a highway or a portion of a highway where public safety is of special concern designated as such under this by-law and signed pursuant to the regulations of the Highway Traffic Act.

3.  THAT every person operating a vehicle shall comply with any traffic control device erected in compliance with this by-law.

4.  THAT Schedule “A” Community Safety Zones, attached to and forming part of this by-law, shows: The Town is set out in column 1 of Schedule A of this by-law, the highways or portions of highways set out in column 2 of Schedule A of this by-law, between the limits set out in column 3 and column 4 of the said schedule, during the times or days set out in column 5 of the said schedule, are designated as Community Safety Zones.

5.  THAT this by-law shall take precedence over any by-law with which it is inconsistent.

6.  AND THAT this by-law shall come into force and take effect when Appropriate Authorized Sign applicable to this provision has been installed and is on display.
