If you are a property owner within 60 metres of the above, you have the opportunity to express an opinion for or against the application at the hearing or in writing before the above-noted meeting date. If you require further information, please contact this office Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Planner’s report will be available for pick up or fax on the Friday before the meeting at 12 p.m. and on the County’s website.
If you wish to be notified of the decision of the Haldimand County Committee of Adjustment in respect of this application, you must submit a written request to the Secretary-Treasurer of the Haldimand County Committee of Adjustment. This will also entitle you to be advised of a possible Ontario Land Tribunal hearing. Even if you are the successful party, you should request a copy of the decision since the Haldimand County Committee of Adjustment decision may be appealed to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal by the applicant or another member of the public.
To appeal the decision to the Ontario Land Tribunal, complete the appropriate appeal form and submit it to the Secretary-Treasurer for the Haldimand County Committee of Adjustment, outlining the reasons for the appeal. You must enclose the current appeal fee, as per the OLT website, for each application appealed, paid by certified cheque, money order or solicitor’s general or trust account cheque, made payable to the Ontario Minister of Finance. The appeal form can be found on the OLT website.
If the applicant, the Minister, or a specified person or public body that files an appeal of a decision of the Haldimand County Committee of Adjustment in respect of the proposed application, does not make oral submissions at the public meeting or written submissions to the Haldimand County Committee of Adjustment before it gives or refuses to give approval, the Ontario Land Tribunal may dismiss the appeal.
