Civic Address
All properties in Haldimand County that have residents or businesses are required to have a civic address (property number, street name and municipality). To help in an emergency, your property number must be visible from the road while travelling in either direction.

Green address signs
Often referred to as a fire number or 911 address, the green sign at the end of a driveway or laneway is the actual address of the property and is required for all occupied rural properties in Haldimand County.
To request a new sign, or replace a missing or damaged sign, return a completed application form (PDF) to us along with the civic address fee.
- The fee for 2024 is $108 + HST.
If your existing sign was stolen, the fee may be waived by providing a police report number.
If you live in an urban area or hamlet, a green sign is not required.
Request a new civic address
If your property has not been assigned a civic address yet, or you need to change your civic address, you can apply for a new address.
If your property requires a green 911 sign with the new address, you will have to pay the civic address fee.
Ways to pay
You can pay in person by cash, credit card, or cheque at the Haldimand County Administration Building.
Or mail a cheque made payable to Haldimand County along with your application to:
