Unearth local history on Haldimand Museums' guided cemetery walks

Embrace the spooky season with Haldimand Museums' annual guided cemetery walks. Explore the history, mysteries, and stories of the Caledonia Municipal Cemetery during an immersive evening tour featuring live actors. 

Participants will discover the meanings behind historic headstone symbols, learn about local families and hear fascinating tales from some of the cemetery's past inhabitants themselves. 

Tours will take place on October 23 and October 30, 2026, from 6 to 7 p.m., offering a unique dusk-time experience at Caledonia Municipal Cemetery, 150 Wigton Street, Caledonia. 

The cost is $25 per person and includes the guided tour, lanterns/flashlights and refreshments. 

Registration opens September 25. Those interested are encouraged to register early, as spots are limited. Register online at rec.haldimandcounty.ca or in person at the Haldimand County Administration Building, 53 Thorburn Street South, Cayuga.
