Temporary water service disruption in Hagersville - May 8 & 11

There will be a temporary water service disruption affecting residents and businesses in Hagersville on Friday, May 8 and Monday, May 11 (weather permitting).

This disruption is required as part of the Hagersville Road Reconstruction project. The new watermain installed under the CN Railway is being tested and will be connected to the existing system on both the east and west sides of the railway. To complete these connections, a temporary water shut-off is necessary.

Water service will be shut off each day at 7 a.m. and is expected to be restored by 7 p.m.

Affected area

Affected areas include:

  • Jane Street
  • Mary Street
  • Quarry Street
  • Hagar Street
  • Sarah Street
  • Porter Street
  • Porter Avenue
  • A section of King Street

After water is restored

Please make sure that all taps are closed or in the off position to avoid any flooding when the water supply is turned back on.

Before you start using the water, we recommend that you:

  • Remove any aerators (screens) from taps
  • Run the tap closest to your water meter (such as a laundry tub) for at least 10 minutes
  • Run each cold water tap for 5 minutes
  • Replace aerators once flushing is complete

Road closure update

The one-way road closure at the CN Rail tracks in Hagersville will remain in place until May 15, 2026, while work is completed. Eastbound traffic can continue to enter town via King Street. Please note that a full one-day closure in both directions will occur for paving (date to be confirmed).

We appreciate your patience as this work is completed.
