My Sweet Sweet World
When Shola Ekperigin moved his chocolate business from Brampton, he could have relocated anywhere. He chose Haldimand County.
Shola and his wife, Manying, have three young sons, and they wanted their boys to grow up in a place with a small-town feel, good schools, and a strong sense of an “everyone knows everyone” community. Importantly, their new location also had to be business-friendly and ripe for growing a company.
Haldimand checked off those boxes. So he established My Sweet Sweet World in downtown Hagersville, and his family moved to Caledonia. In just a few years, the business has made a real impact, joining in Haldimand’s rising tide of commerce.
Ekperigin’s site-made, artisan chocolate is unique and delicious, and locals love that My Sweet Sweet World produces chocolate made locally using recipes Ekperigin created himself, with Haldimand featured on the packaging. And Ekperigin makes a point of buying coconuts, strawberries, milk, coffee beans, and other necessary ingredients from local businesses. Ekperigin turned his passion for chocolate into a flourishing business, and his family and business have found a home in Haldimand.
