Significant weather event ended as of 12 p.m. January 29 with all roads reopened

Haldimand County has lifted the Significant Weather Event declaration as of 12 p.m. and reopened all previously closed roads in the lakeshore area after weather and road conditions improved.

Road crews worked around the clock to address drifting snow and challenging conditions caused by high winds. With access now restored, regular travel may resume.

Drivers are reminded to continue using caution, as localized drifting or reduced visibility may still occur. Crews will remain in the area to monitor conditions and complete final clean‑up as needed.
