Scam alert: parking ticket text messages

Haldimand County has been made aware of fraudulent text messages claiming to be automated notices regarding unpaid tickets and threatening collection action.

Please be advised that the County does not send ticket notices, payment reminders, or collection warnings by text message.

Official ticket-related correspondence from the County is sent through Canada Post. In some circumstances, County staff or an authorized collection agency may contact individuals by telephone regarding an existing matter. However, residents should be cautious of unsolicited text messages requesting payment or threatening enforcement action.

If you receive a suspicious text message, do not click any links or provide personal or financial information.
