Outstanding construction work/finishing touches will temporarily close the Hagersville Library + Active Living Centre May 4 to May 19, 2026

Beginning May 4 to May 19, 2026, the Hagersville Library + Active Living Centre will be closed to the public while remaining exterior and interior construction work is completed.  

With the warmer weather, the closure will allow contractors to complete interior and exterior finishes including entry and parking lot curb/sidewalk installation, paving and line painting, landscaping and other interior enhancements. 

Given the significant nature of the work, requiring heavy equipment and multiple sub-contractors working at the same time, the decision has been made to close access to the site and facility for this two-week period.

This is to ensure the safety of the public and that the general contractor and their sub-contractors have clear and unimpeded access to complete the work during this time. 

Accommodations will be made for new members (extending their memberships by one month). Library users are encouraged to hold on to their borrowed items and bring them back once the branch re-opens and explore the many online resources available.

This is an exciting next step in finishing up this facility and making it even more beautiful, accessible and user-friendly for our communities.  

Staff will monitor conditions at the site and, as the work progresses, continue to provide updates through the Haldimand County website and social media channels (Facebook, Instagram).
