Notice of passing of by-law under the Ontario Heritage Act to designate The Maples
Notice is given that Haldimand County Council has passed By-law 2598-25 to designate certain attributes as being of architectural and historical value or interest under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act, 1990, R.S.O., Chapter 0.18, Section 29 for the property known as The Maples (212 Caithness Street East, Caledonia ON, legally described as Part Lot 17 North Caithness, Haldimand County).
As part of the Act, anyone wishing to object to the designation must submit their appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) or the Municipal Clerk within 30 days of this notice, subject to an OLT filing fee. Appeals can be submitted through the OLT e-file service (select Haldimand as the Approval Authority) or delivered to the Municipal Clerk before 4:30 p.m. on June 6, 2025.
Appeals made through the OLT's e-file service require the user to have a My Ontario Account. The fee payment can be made online through the e-file service or by cheque/money order made out to the Minister of Finance, Province of Ontario.
