All municipal pools open as of Sunday, July 19

With the air quality warning lifted, all pools are confirmed to be open for Sunday, July 19, operating the usual Sunday schedule. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Update: Saturday, July 18, 4 p.m.
Due to favourable weather forecasts, municipal pools are anticipated to reopen on Sunday, July 19, operating on a usual Sunday schedule.
Staff are actively monitoring the weather, and should conditions change overnight, a decision may be made to re-close the pool. An update will be posted to the website on Sunday morning. Please check back before visiting the pool.

Update: Friday, July 17, 3:30 p.m.
Based on weather forecasts, municipal pools will remain closed on Saturday, July 18, due to poor air quality. Public swimming, lessons, and rentals are cancelled for the day.
Splash pads and parks will remain open; however, residents should limit their time outdoors wherever possible.
A decision for Sunday will be posted to our website and social channels on Saturday afternoon.

Update: Friday, July 17, 6:30 a.m.
Municipal pools remain closed on Friday, July 17, due to poor air quality. Splash pads and parks will be open.
For those going outside, in keeping with Environment Canada and Grand Erie Public Health recommendations, time outdoors should be limited.
At this time, a decision has not been made regarding weekend operations. Staff will continue to monitor conditions and will share an update when available.
Wednesday, July 15
All municipally-operated pools in Haldimand County are currently closed due to poor air quality caused by wildfire smoke. All scheduled lessons and public swims have been cancelled.
Camps are continuing as scheduled as children can safely remain indoors.
The pools will re-open once conditions improve, at which time an announcement will be shared on the county website and social media channels.
All registered program participants will be receiving an e-mail from ActiveNet regarding the cancellation.
