Ministry of Municipal Affairs & Housing posts MZO on Environmental Registry of Ontario for public review and comment

Haldimand County has been made aware that the Ministry of Municipal Affairs & Housing has posted the Nanticoke MZO on the Environmental Registry of Ontario (ERO) for public review and comment. The MMAH and its partner Ministries are reviewing all technical materials submitted by Empire in relation to the Nanticoke MZO, and seeking public comment is a part of this process.

ERO postings are public notices issued by the Ontario government detailing proposed changes to laws, regulations, policies, and/or instruments. These postings allow the public to review and submit feedback on the proposal. The link to the ERO posting is available on the Province’s website and the Nanticoke Development Proposal web page on Haldimand County’s website.

The ERO posting is for 30 days, closing on July 3.

The MMAH will be consulting with numerous stakeholders during the ERO public posting period.

The decision on the Nanticoke MZO rests solely with the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH).

Any decision of the Minister, whether for approval or refusal, is final and must be accepted, as there is no appeal process.

Residents are encouraged to get the facts about this complex development proposal and participate in community consultation facilitated by the Ministry.
