Hazardous conditions close portion of Lakeshore Road

Strong winds and accumulated snow are causing hazardous conditions along the lakeshore, making travel near impossible. The most heavily impacted area is on Lakeshore Road between Haldimand-Dunnville Townline Road & the end of Haldimand Road 53/Erie Street and north/south roads leading up to it. These include:

• Erie St S
• Haldimand Rd 12
• Kohler Rd
• Sweets Corners Rd
• Brookers Rd
• Haldimand Rd 50
• South Cayuga Rd
• Haldimand-Dunnville Townline Rd

There will be no access to Lakeshore from Rainham Road or the other roads listed above until conditions improve and they can be safely re-opened.

Individuals living within the impacted area are encouraged to stay in and not travel while crews work to get roads cleared. Additional equipment is being brought in to deal with the blowing snow and drifts.

Emergency Services is still operating and able to respond, however, response times may be delayed due to extreme weather conditions. Updates will be posted once the road has re-opened, and we appreciate your patience as crews continue to deal with these challenging conditions.
