Haldimand County tree inventory update ongoing July to October

From July to October, certified arborists will be inspecting county-owned trees in these areas:

  • Dunnville (West of John Street), Byng, Canborough and Port Maitland, Blott Point, Grant Point, Green’s Line and Johnson Road;
  • Rural roadside trees in the former townships of Canborough and Dunn; and
  • High traffic County highways, cemeteries and parks.

This is part of the county’s Tree Inventory Update Program to keep trees healthy, spot problems early, and plan care before any safety issues happen. If a tree needs work, it will be marked with green paint and added to the County’s tree care map:

  • Green dot = Pruning
  • Green ‘X’ = Tree removal
  • Green paint on stump = Stump grinding

The work on these trees will happen in 2026 due to the high number of trees needing care. Visit our Tree Inventory & Maintenance Map to see which trees are scheduled for maintenance.
