Haldimand County recognizes waste reduction week

October 20 to 26 marks Waste Reduction Week in Canada, a national campaign that highlights how small changes in our daily habits can lead to big environmental impacts. Now part of the broader Circular Economy Month, this week focuses on reducing waste across key sectors—like construction, textiles, electronics, plastics, and food—while promoting sharing, reuse, and repair.

Here in Haldimand County, we’re proud to contribute to waste reduction efforts through our waste services, diversion programs, and community awareness. Whether it’s diverting construction materials from a landfill, or recycling electronics at our drop-off locations, every action counts.

Working together, we can reduce our environmental footprint and support a more circular way of living.
