Haldimand County Public Library hosts free naloxone training session

Community members are invited to learn a potentially life-saving skill at a free naloxone training session presented by Grand Erie Public Health at the Haldimand County Public Library's Caledonia Branch.

Taking place on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., the session will provide participants with information on how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose and how to safely administer naloxone in an emergency.

Naloxone is a safe medication that can temporarily reverse an opioid overdose caused by substances such as fentanyl, heroin, and oxycodone. When administered promptly, it can help save a life while emergency medical assistance is on the way.

This free training session is open to anyone 16 years of age or older and will conclude with participants receiving a complimentary naloxone kit to take home. No registration is required, and attendees are welcome to drop in and participate.

Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to learn a potentially life-saving skill that can help them respond confidently in an emergency and contribute to a safer, more informed community.
