Haldimand County launches new Business Breakthrough Quiz to support local entrepreneurs

Haldimand County, in collaboration with Groundswell Coworking, has launched a new initiative to help local entrepreneurs grow their businesses with greater clarity and confidence: the Business Breakthrough Quiz.

This free, two-minute online tool helps business owners identify their current stage of growth and connects them with programs, people, and resources available right here in Haldimand County. Whether someone is just starting out or ready to scale, the quiz offers a simple way to find the right next step.

“Entrepreneurs don’t have to figure everything out on their own,” said Lidy Romanuk, Manager of Economic Development and Tourism. “The Business Breakthrough Quiz helps business owners see where they are in their journey and connects them to the people and programs that can move them forward. It’s about making support accessible, relevant, and rooted in community.”

With the launch of the quiz, Haldimand County is taking a hands-on approach to help local entrepreneurs access the right tools, networks, and opportunities for growth.

To keep the momentum going, Business Breakthrough Meetups will be hosted across Haldimand this fall: casual, conversation-driven events designed to connect entrepreneurs directly with one another and with the organizations that can support their next stage of growth.

  • October 30, 2025 from 6 to 8 p.m.  – Revival Coffee, Caledonia (172 Argyle St. N)

·       November 14, 2025 from noon to 2 p.m. – Concession Road Brewing, Jarvis (17 Talbot St. E)

·       November 27, 2025 from 10 a.m. to noon – The Minga Café, Dunnville (146 Queen St.)

Local entrepreneurs are encouraged to attend, share ideas, and explore ways to strengthen both their businesses and the broader community.

“At Groundswell, we see every day how much passion and talent lives in our local entrepreneurs, and also how many feel unsure about what to focus on next,” said Jess Bommarito, Founder of Groundswell Coworking. “That’s why this partnership made so much sense. Haldimand County has the resources and reach, and we brought the on-the-ground perspective of what small business owners truly need. Together, we’ve created something simple, actionable, and empowering.”

The Business Breakthrough project is about more than tools and events; it’s about helping Haldimand County business owners find clarity, connection, and confidence. When entrepreneurs grow together, the whole community moves forward.

The Business Breakthrough Quiz is now live and available to all Haldimand entrepreneurs. To take the quiz or register for an upcoming meetup, visit www.haldimandcounty.ca/breakthrough.
