Haldimand County and local business partners launch new Business Breakthrough workshop series

Haldimand County Economic Development and Tourism, in partnership with the Grand Erie Business Centre (GEBC) and the Haldimand Business Network, is pleased to announce the launch of the quarterly Business Breakthrough workshops, a new program designed to help local business owners strengthen their skills, connect with industry experts, and support long-term growth.

The series will feature four workshops from November 2026 to September 2027, each focusing on a key area of business management. Sessions will include guest speakers, interactive discussions with local industry experts, and opportunities for networking and collaboration.

The first workshop will take place on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Jarvis Lions Community Centre (18 James Street, Jarvis). The session will feature a presentation on effective delegation from Jeff Ronhaar of Jeff's Outdoor, followed by practical guidance and strategies from the Grand Erie Business Centre.

"Strong local businesses are at the heart of a healthy and resilient economy," said Lidy Romanuk, Manager of Economic Development and Tourism. "Through the Business Breakthrough series, we're providing valuable learning opportunities while encouraging stronger connections between local businesses and the business organizations that support them."

"Business owners often face similar challenges, regardless of their industry," said Tauri Caputo, Manager of Grand Erie Business Centre. "These workshops will provide an opportunity to learn from experienced professionals, ask questions and walk away with practical strategies they can apply to their own businesses."

The series will continue at locations across Haldimand County, with the following workshops planned. Additional details on time and location will be confirmed closer to the dates:

  • February 2027: Financial Statements - Caledonia
  • June 2027: Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) – Selkirk and Cayuga
  • September 2027: Budgeting - Dunnville

The Business Breakthrough workshop series is free for members of participating Haldimand County Chambers of Commerce and Boards of Trade. Non-members may register for the full four-session series for $495. Business owners who are not currently members are encouraged to connect with their local Chamber of Commerce or Board of Trade to learn more about membership benefits, including complimentary access to the workshop series.

"We're excited to partner with Haldimand County and the Grand Erie Business Centre to offer this opportunity to our members and the broader business community," said Rob Phillips, Hagersville Chamber President. "Our local Chambers and Boards of Trade are here to support businesses at every stage, and this series is a great example of the value we can provide through collaboration. We encourage business owners across Haldimand County to participate, connect with their local Chamber or Board of Trade, and take advantage of the opportunities available to them."
