Hagersville Road Reconstruction: road closure and water service disruption, Nov. 26 to 27

Before winter arrives, crews will be carrying out work to secure and prepare the King/Tuscarora construction area. These steps help maintain safety and protect progress through the colder months, ensuring the site is ready for the final stage of improvements in spring. By doing this now, we can minimize disruption later and keep the project on track for completion.

Please note the following impacts:

Road closure

To accommodate this work, King Street West will be closed in both directions from Mary Avenue to Tuscarora Street:

  • Wednesday, November 26 & Thursday, November 27, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily

Water service disruption

On Thursday, November 27 (weather permitting), water service will be temporarily interrupted for residents and businesses in the highlighted areas (see map below):

  • Start: 7 a.m.
  • Estimated Restoration: 6 p.m.

Affected streets

  • King Street (Howard Street to town limits)
  • John Street (Church Street West to King Street West)
  • Church Street (John Street to Howard Street)
  • Jane Street – All
  • Mary Street – All
  • Quarry Street – All
  • Hagar Street – All
  • Sarah Street – All
  • Porter Street – All
  • Porter Avenue – All

After Water Service Is Restored

To prevent flooding and ensure water quality:

  • Confirm all taps are in the off position before water is turned back on
  • Remove aerators (screens) from taps
  • Run the laundry tub tap (or the tap closest to your water meter) for 10 minutes
  • Run each cold-water tap for 5 minutes
  • Replace aerators on taps

Thank you for your patience as we make these improvements to enhance safety and infrastructure in your community. We understand construction can be disruptive and appreciate your patience as we work to enhance neighbourhoods and community infrastructure.
