Downtown Hagersville street tree installation begins August 18

Starting the week of August 18, 2025, Haldimand County will begin work on the Downtown Hagersville Street Tree Revitalization Project. This initiative will enhance the streetscape and contribute to a greener, more vibrant downtown core.

Estimated completion: Mid-September 2025

Project highlights

  • Removal of existing trees, grates, and guards
  • Excavation of new planting pits in sidewalks
  • Installation of new concrete sidewalk panels
  • Planting of new trees with updated tree grates
  • Ongoing care, maintenance, and watering of the new trees

What to expect during construction

  • Sidewalks and roads will remain open to pedestrians and vehicles
  • Temporary disruptions may include dust, noise, and limited access to some sidewalk sections and roadside parking as work progresses down the street
