Craft, Read, Discover: fall program highlights at Haldimand County Public Library
Haldimand County Public Library is excited to welcome the fall season with a full slate of engaging and enriching programs for all ages. From interactive storytimes and baby-friendly sessions to adult crafting afternoons and special literary events, the library is your go-to destination for learning, connection, and seasonal fun.

Crafternoons for adults
Get creative this fall with the always-popular Crafternoons program. Held monthly from September to November, each session features a guided craft activity with all materials provided. Sessions begin at 1 p.m. and cost only $2. Registration and payment must be made in person at the library branch.

- October craft: Fall/Halloween Cutting Board Decoration
- November craft: Busted Canvas Holiday Art

Children’s fall programs
Starting September 8, registration opens for the Library’s fall 10-week children’s programs.
- Storytime (ages 3+): Stories, songs, crafts, and social skill development
- Tiny Tales (ages 0 to 2): Interactive sessions for babies and caregivers
- Books and Blocks (Caledonia only, ages 1 to 5): Storytime followed by MEGA Block play
Each session is $1 per child per week. In-person registration is required; check your branch or haldimandlibrary.ca/kids for start dates.
Author visit: Carolyn Wilman – Jarvis Branch
Award-winning author and “Contest Queen,” Carolyn Wilman, will be at the Jarvis Branch on Saturday, September 27, at 2 p.m. to share her tips for winning cash and prizes every day. Pulling on methods from her popular books, You Can’t Win if You Don’t Enter and How to Win Cash, Cars, Trips & More, participants will get the inside scoop on how to find, organize, enter, and win contests and sweepstakes. No registration required.
One Book One Haldimand: Mark Leslie – Caledonia Branch
Just in time for Halloween, Haunted Hamilton author Mark Leslie will be visiting the Caledonia Branch on Saturday, October 4 at 1:30 p.m. for the annual One Book One Haldimand event. Participants can enjoy a reading, Q&A session, and refreshments. All ages are welcome with no registration needed. Borrow a copy of the book from your local branch—if you dare!
