Caithness Street Culvert and Road Rehabilitation project begins April 20

Haldimand County’s 2026 Structure Rehabilitation Program is underway. Repairs to the Caithness Street culvert, located on Caithness Street East between Seneca Street and Onondaga Street, are scheduled to begin on or about April 20, 2026.

In addition to the culvert repairs, road repairs and a new sidewalk will be completed from the culvert to McClung Road.

The work will be completed in two stages:

  • Stage 1: Culvert repairs
  • Stage 2: Road repairs and sidewalk installation

Caithness Street will remain open to traffic throughout construction, with lane restrictions and portable traffic signals in place. All work is anticipated to be completed by late September 2026.

Lane closure notice for Stage 1

To facilitate Stage 1, a lane closure will be in effect on Caithness Street East, between Seneca Street and Onondaga Street, from Monday, April 20, to June 19.

Motorists are advised to use caution when travelling through the area and to follow all posted signage.
