Answer the Call – Haldimand County Fire Department is Seeking Volunteer Firefighters County Wide
HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON – The Haldimand County Fire Department is calling on residents who are committed to community service to join its dedicated team of Volunteer Firefighters and help keep our communities safe.
With recruitment now underway and spots available in most of our fire stations across Haldimand County, the department is particularly encouraging applications from residents living in our more rural areas.
Make a Lasting Impact Close to Home
Volunteer firefighters are often the first to respond when emergencies happen. From structure fires and motor vehicle collisions to medical emergencies, rescue incidents, and public education initiatives, volunteers provide an invaluable service that helps keep Haldimand County safe.
"The strength and success of our fire service comes from the commitment of local residents who are willing to serve the communities they live in," said Jason Gallagher, Fire Chief and Manager of Emergency Services. "Residents who have ever considered becoming a firefighter are encouraged to take the first step and learn more about the opportunities, training, and community impact that come with the role.”
No Experience Required
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and provide comprehensive training, mentorship, and opportunities to develop valuable firefighting, emergency response, leadership, and teamwork skills. Whether you're a farmer, tradesperson, student, business owner, retiree, or office worker, volunteering is a rewarding way to give back close to home.
