2026 Paramedic Services Week
HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON – Haldimand County Emergency Services is proud to recognize Paramedic Services Week May 17-23, joining communities across Ontario in celebrating the vital role paramedics play in delivering expert, compassionate, and life-saving care.
This year’s theme, “Better Care Starts Here,” highlights paramedics as highly trusted healthcare professionals who provide evidence-informed care across the full spectrum—from prevention and community outreach to emergency response and complex clinical interventions.
“As the first point of contact in most medical emergencies, paramedics provide vital, life-saving care while demonstrating extraordinary compassion. Behind every call is a person, a family, and a moment that matters. This week is an opportunity to thank our paramedics and acknowledge the incredible impact they make every single day,” said Jason Gallagher, Manager of Emergency Services/Fire Chief for Haldimand County.
Chief Gallagher added, “We encourage the public to learn more about when and how to call 9-1-1, the importance of CPR and AED training, and the value of community paramedicine programs. Paramedic Services Week is a chance to recognize our team and remind everyone that collaboration saves lives.”
Throughout the week, Haldimand County Emergency Services will spotlight key aspects of modern paramedicine through daily themes that reflect the evolving scope and impact of the profession on its social media channels.
