Tree inventory map

Explore Haldimand forestry with our tree inventory map. See the location of municipally-owned trees, their species, and maintenance status.

Our tree inventory and maintenance map provides information for trees owned and looked after by Haldimand County. For each tree, you can see:

  1. Zone - New trees are planted by zone on a rotating schedule. The map shows which zone a tree belongs to, along with planting and maintenance dates.
  2. Town, street name, and number - Tells you where a tree is located.
  3. Common name - Tells you the type of tree.
  4. DBH (cm) - Tells you the measurement of the tree trunk thickness.
  5. Action - Tells you what work is planned for the tree using a number of status categories:
    • Active: the tree is healthy, and no work is needed right now
    • Plant Large: A tall tree (more than 16 m or 53 ft) will be planted
    • Plant Medium: A medium tree (6 to 16 m, or 20 to 53 ft) will be planted
    • Plant Small: A smaller tree (under 6 m or 20 ft) will be planted
    • Prune Aerial: The tree will be trimmed
    • Remove Full: The tree and stump will be taken out
    • Remove Partial: The tree will be removed, but the stump will stay
    • Remove Low: The tree will be cut down in a natural area and left
    • Stump: Only the stump will be removed and cleaned up
  6. Project name - When there is information under the project name, it tells you there is work planned for the tree
  7. Due Date - This is when the work is expected to be done
