Our capital budget funds the construction and repair of the County's infrastructure assets such as roads, bridges, buildings, water mains, sewers, and more.

Caledonia Urban Paving: Argyle Street Bridge, Argyle Street North, and Forfar Street East

Overnight work is planned for August 24 - 26, 2026 between 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. to minimize disruptions for the following locations:

  • Argyle Street Bridge 
  • Argyle Street North - north limit of the bridge to Sutherland Street
  • Forfar Street East - east of Argyle Street South to Berwick Street

Detour routes and traffic control measures will be in place during the duration of the work. All roads will be reopened to traffic by 7 a.m. each day.

62 - 48 Caithness Street West Retaining Wall Replacement 

Location: 62 - 48 Caithness St W, Caledonia

Caithness Street Culvert Rehabilitation

Location: Caithness Street - 0.4 km W of McClung Rd, Caledonia

  • Rehabilitation of the concrete culvert
  • Installation of new AODA compliant sidewalk to connect to McClung Rd
  • Asphalt replacement on the road from the culvert to McClung Rd with a paved shoulder on the South side

  • The work will be completed in two stages:
    • First stage: culvert work
    • Second stage: road works and sidewalk installation
  • Caithness Street will be open to traffic with lane restrictions and portable traffic signals for duration of repairs

Haldimand Road 56 North & South Culvert Replacements

Location: Haldimand Road 56 - 0.5 km N of Concession 2 Road & 0.1 km S of Haldimand Road 9, York

Hyslop Drive - Scottacres Boulevard to Jamieson Drive

  • Curb replacement on both sides of the road 
  • Sidewalk replacement on the north side of the road with sidewalk widening from 1.2m to 1.5m
  • Asphalt roadway reconstruction 

Argyle Street North - North Bridge Limit to Sutherland Street 

  • Asphalt roadway milling and resurfacing
  • Minor intersection upgrades to meet AODA requirements
  • This will will be completed as night work 

Forfar Street - East of Argyle Street South to Berwick Street 

  • Asphalt roadway milling and resurfacing
  • Conversion from a two-way roadway to a one-way roadway
  • Parking improvements
