Haldimand County Museums

Historical Landmarks & Associations

  • Preserving and promoting interest in the history of Dunnville and surrounding areas, reseraching local history and genealogy, Dunnville District Heritage Association
  • Local History Genealogy Room, Jarvis Public Library
  • Commemorating the 200th anniversary of the Grand River Naval Depot, Located withing Port Maitland East Park, Port Maitland Cairn
  • In combination with a lock around the Dunnville dam and locks further up the Grand River, The Port Maitland Lock allowed small ships and barges to travel from Lake Erie to Brantford, Port Maitland Lock
  • North Erie Shore Historical Society Geanealogy Collection, Selkirk Public Library

Art Collectives

Haldimand Art Works is registered charity whose mandate is to provide community-based arts and fine craft education in Haldimand County.  Providing courses and workshops in the arts and fine crafts, arts oriented programming and a gallery with a wonderful selection of art and handcrafted items emphasizing the work of local artists and artisans.

As the host organization for the River Arts Festival, an annual multi-disciplinary celebration of the arts that takes place the first two weeks of every November in Halidmand County.
