Notice of Construction: King St. W Road Resurfacing (Aug – Nov)

Construction is scheduled to commence on King St. W (from the railway tracks to Concession 13 Walpole) the week of August 23, 2021. It is anticipated that work will be completed by the end of November 2021. King Street West will remain open daily during this project, however access may be slow due to construction activities.

The work will involve replacing curbs, sidewalks, ditching, driveway aprons and resurfacing of the road. Residents and businesses will have access to their driveways during all phases of the project however access may be restricted temporarily to complete certain components of the construction such as concrete sidewalk, curb work and driveway culvert replacement and apron restoration. Advanced notice will be provided to any residents affected by these driveway access disruptions so that alternate parking and access can be arranged. For businesses with single entrances culvert replacements will be completed half at a time. For businesses with two entrances, one entrance will be maintained while the other is being replaced.

Staff understand that construction may cause temporary headaches to residents and business owners and ask that all affected individuals remain patient. The end goal of all construction work is to enhance our neighbourhoods and communities, and the County is committed to minimizing disruption by communicating construction information in a timely manner and responding to resident needs/concerns. Anyone with questions or concerns regarding construction projects may contact or call 905-318-5932 ext. 6404.

Garbage/Recycling pickup: Please continue to place your garbage and recycling out on your usual day, in the usual location during construction. Please mark your address on your receptacles to ensure that if they need to be relocated for pickup that they can be returned to the correct address. Please ensure that all items are placed curbside no later than 7:00 a.m. on the day of your regularly scheduled pickup.
