Notice & Public Meeting: General Zoning Amendment to Introduce Zoning Provisions for Cannabis Production Facilities

Haldimand County is initiating a general amendment to all three zoning by-laws (City of Nanticoke Zoning By-laws NE-1-2000, Town of Haldimand Zoning By-law 1-H-86, and Town of Dunnville Zoning By-law 1-DU-80) to incorporate zoning provisions for cannabis production facilities. The provisions will seek to establish clarity surrounding the use and controls specifically intended to address land use compatibility.

At the December 11, 2018 Council in Committee meeting, staff presented Council with an information report regarding Cannabis Production Facilities and preliminary zoning provisions for Cannabis Production Facilities. The draft zoning provisions will be brought back to Council for consideration on March 26, 2019.

Residents are invited to provide input for consideration in the review and finalization of the draft regulations; feedback can be provided in-person at the scheduled public meeting or via e-mail (contact information below).

All members of the public who wish to provide feedback on the draft regulations for Cannabis Production Facilities may appear before Council on:

March 26, 2019 – Council in Committee
9:30am (please note that public meeting time will depend on where the matter is scheduled on the agenda)

Anyone who wishes to speak will be allotted 10 minutes. Registering as a speaker/delegate with the Municipal Clerk is not required.
